In a January 25, 2020 interview on Moneytalks with Michael Campbell, real estate investor Ozzie Jurock stated that he looks for a vacancy rate of 4 to 5%, combined with a local economy that offers good employment and growth.  


An October 24, 2019 Edmonton Journal article, states that, 


The city’s rental vacancy rate declined from 7 per cent to 5.3 per cent from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, that number is expected to drop to 3.9 percent. That trend is projected to continue with a 3.4 percent vacancy rate in 2020 before increasing to 4.3 per cent in 2021.”

Mr. Jurock advised that he had recently bought some condos in Edmonton for $180,000.  At MaxWell, we are receiving inquiries from investors both in and outside of Alberta.
